Ross University Preparatory School

Ross University Preparatory School is a traditional, American, independent day school for children in pre-k through 8th grades. Currently the school assists high-school aged children in their home school studies. The Preparatory School has incorporated an independent school curriculum comparable to the best set of courses found in rigorous, quality private schools in the United States. The school prides itself on that curriculum, its small classes, and on the quality of its faculty. The school is growing and will soon incorporate that curriculum through grade 12 so that home schooling or other educational paths for older children will not be necessary. Tuition for the 2001-2002 academic year is $200 US per semester, and parents sign a contract to enroll their children following a meeting with appropriate teachers during registration. Children in the School are required to provide full academic transcripts, to be fully immunized and provide the School with current immunization records.

The Prep School calendar generally follows that of the Medical School. The School day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. In January, the semester begins on Wednesday, January 16 (registration is on the 14th and 15th) and ends on April 26th. School reconvenes on May 15th for the summer session. The first four weeks of the summer session are taught as regular classroom instruction and the last 10 weeks follow the format of a day camp, incorporating intellectual stimulation, field trips and outdoor activity. The summer term ends on August 23rd and the fall term begins on September 11th (registration is on the 9th and 10th).

Ross University Preparatory School also operates a childcare program weekdays from 7:45 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. for infants through three years old to assist families with younger children. Children in the childcare program are required to be fully immunized and provide the School with current immunization records.

If you have questions about any of these programs or you are interested in enrolling your child, please direct all inquiries to J. Kristian Pueschel, Headmaster, at KPueschel@rossmed.edu.dm or call him at (767) 445-5355 x338.

The School is seeks qualified faculty for its programs on a full- and part-time basis. Experienced certified teachers and/or teachers with advanced degrees in specific subject areas are encouraged to apply. If the medical student’s spouse has an interest in teaching a grade level or a specific subject area, please contact Mr. Pueschel at the above email address attaching a current cv/resume.
